Indoor games

The Vikings conducted Wednesday morning's walk-through in Myers Field House because of rain.

"It's not as fun as outdoors," quarterback Christian Ponder said. "There's a little less room, so it's not as fun, that's for sure."

Coach Leslie Frazier hopes the weather clear and that the afternoon practice will take place back on the football fields.

"We're looking forward to another padded practice," he said. "It's been a good training camp so far. ... But we need to be outside."

Staying on the subject of going indoors, Vikings officials made a presentation regarding the NFL's new policy for bags being brought into games. The policy, which begins with the first preseason games (for the Vikings, Aug. 9), was implemented to enhance safety and expedite entry into the stadiums.

The Vikings and the NFL are discouraging fans from bringing any bags into the stadium, but this is what will be allowed:

* Clear, plastic (or vinyl or PVC) bags no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches.

* One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags (Ziploc).

* Small, hand-size clutch bags.

* Bags that won't be allowed include backpacks, large purses, cinch bags, camera bags.

* Exceptions will be made for medical reasons and to media.

The Vikings will be sending a clear, plastic team bag to all season-ticket holders in time for the regular-season opener. On game days, security personnel and other "ambassadors" will be outside of the stadium and getting the message to fans before they get into the ticket lines.
